Our beginnings ego back to 1981, when we, the Bech family, opened our restaurant in Fontanilles, a little village on the Costa Brava. One of the most famous dishes was “bandaged” cottage cheese (wrapped in cheese cloth) with Empordà fig preserve, a dessert that was very popular in the region.
The success of the figs was such that we started to produce them and sell them to our customers and the nearby shops and, what started out as an additional activity within the restaurant, turned into the beginnings of Can Bech as a brand for

Can Bech is a family business with a long gastronomic background, which began its activity in the restaurant Can Bech in Fontanilles (Baix Empordà-Costa Brava).
After many years of experience in the sector,Can Bech we started to produce the traditional Empordà preserved figs and, gradually, we added other product specialities such as natural jams, jams with cocoa, jellies, chutneys, Mediterranean sauces and signature pairings for cheeses. Just For Cheese.
